Your private tour begins with pickup from your hotel, Nile cruise, train station, or Luxor Airport, where you will meet your expert Egyptologist guide. From there, you will start your half-day journey to the magnificent Karnak Temple, the largest religious complex ever built in Egypt.
Construction of Karnak Temple began during the reign of Senusret I in the Middle Kingdom (1971–1926 BC) and continued through the Ptolemaic period (332–30 BC), making it a living record of nearly 2,000 years of ancient Egyptian history. Walk along the famous Avenue of Sphinxes with lion bodies and ram heads, pass through the massive pylons, and explore the breathtaking Great Hypostyle Hall with its 134 gigantic columns. You will also see ancient obelisks, the sacred lake, the sanctuary of Philip III Arrhidaeus of Macedon, and the Akh Menu of Tuthmosis III.
After enjoying free time to explore Karnak Temple at your own pace, you will continue to the centrally located Luxor Temple, once connected to Karnak by the ceremonial Avenue of Sphinxes. Luxor Temple was originally built by Amenhotep III and later expanded by Ramses II, with additional contributions from pharaohs such as Tutankhamun, Horemheb, and Alexander the Great.
Following a guided visit, enjoy some free time to explore Luxor Temple before concluding your tour. You will then be transferred back to your preferred location on the East Bank of Luxor, whether it is your hotel, Nile cruise, train station, or airport.
